Hike around whistler campsite

Today I took a hike 4km , followed an old logging road until it ended, could hear a river below so i headed for it .the pictures in the woods are of the so called trail down to the river that the owner of the park told me about, finally i made it to the river, leaving the river i lost my way and ended way up the mountain, luckily i could see the logging road bellow. The climb sure was hard ,i was thinking if i had a heart attack no one would find me(except maybe food for a bear) oh the bear was trapped overnight and relocated. The only other thing i did today was do laundry and have my hair cut,its shorter than the last one. The Bear

The owner of the park has now set up 2 bear traps in the campground after i told him of my experience, the owner said the bear has been around for the past 2 weeks and getting bolder all the time,he said is was time to relocate him.I spent the day trying to stay dry as i rained until 4pm its now 7pm and most things are now dry, hope the weather is better tomorrow....Dad ps Rob I didn't take bacon to bed but i better be more careful where i dump my dishwater as the owner said anything that smells like food will attract a bear.

Random Pictures around Whistler

Moss covers everything in the forest behind my campsite

Waterfall 2km from campsite,15 min walk from parking lot, couldn't get down to the bottom as it was blocked off.
Today it is raining so I drove to Squamish 35km where i went shopping for food and propane. This morning the campsite was visited by a black bear,i was inside my tent wondering what was outside,to my surprise when i looked out there was a bear 15ft from the tent.I made a bee line for the van 3 ft away once inside i felt safe, the bear took off into the woods before i could get a picture of him,i will be ready for him next time with my camera in my tent. I think he was more afraid of me,i hope so...talk later dad

Nelson and GPS shortcut#%$%#%

Went to Nelson today where I meet with Darrin we had lunch and talked about old times,he is no longer the tall skinny person we remember if you get my drift. His wife was working and the kids in school I was sorry I couldn't meet them.the kids that is. Left Nelson around 2pm my GPS decided to have me turn off the main road and take a shortcut, the two lane dirt road turned into a one lane logging road through the middle of nowhere, the road deteriorated so bad the the were small land slides across the road, several times i stopped and removed boulders so i could get by,I took the wrong fork in the road and ended up blocked by a tree across the road, ready to panic i trusted the GPS it found another way on an even worse road at one point the road was half washed away luckily there was enough left for my van to get through although i was worried the bank would collapse and i would end up rolling down the cliff to the river below,I would of stopped and taken a picture but i was trying hard not to fill my pants. As the road ahead looked even worse,i kept going for a total of 48km at a speed of 5 to 10 km per hour. Finally the GPS found the paved road that led to Kelowana....I was never so glad to see a paved road in my life, the next time the GPS turns me off the highway I will keep going....O by the way as I entered Kelowana I came across a truck I had passed 2 hours earlier before my so called short cut. Will post at next internet site.
